The Medical Laboratory Science Board (MLSB) is one of New Zealand's sixteen health registration authorities. The board is responsible for ensuring registered practitioners in the field of medical laboratory science are fit to practise. The board was appointed by New Zealand's Minister of Health in accordance with the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act 2003.

The Board itself is comprised of ten members. Six of the members are registered in the medical laboratory science field, three are laypersons and the last is a registered pathologist. Each member is appointed for a three year period by the Minister of Health and can be re-appointed for another three year term for up to a maximum of nine years.
